Niykee is still writing songs, even though she has been caught up in the current chaos. Her selection was made for this year's YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. As a producer magnet, Niykee has a constant eye on beats being sent to her. The majority beats spark fresh song ideas. "I'll be able to tell within 5 seconds whether it's a great beat. When I've got an idea in my head and I begin to write immediately." My guitar is on the back of my porch and I let the thoughts flow. It's usually done within thirty minutes. Niykee's past pain provides constant motivation as she grows as an author. When I'm not writing literally about things that have occurred to me, the pain of my childhood and the loss of my sister end being incorporated into my lyrics, she says. My music is inspired by my experiences and I feel the deeper meaning underneath everything. That's one of the things that is most significant to me.
